The annual Australian Surf Life Saving Championships are one of the world's most exciting sporting events, with over 8500 competitors from Australia and international lifesaving countries participating each year. There are upwards of 500 officials that facilitate the championships. The championships are nationally televised and have become a pinnacle event on the Australian sporting calendar.

The 2009 Australian Surf Life Saving Championships will be held at Scarborough Beach in Western Australia March, 2009. An electronic entries, competition management and results system will be used this year, as it has for last seven years for the Australian Surf Life Saving Championships.
The use of this entries system enables all clubs to check their competition entries for both the 2009 Masters Surf Life Saving Championships and the 2009 Australian Surf Life Saving Championship online. Results will be made available in real time on the website and to mobile phones throughout competition.

"The challenge of developing an online competition system, and communications infrastructure that runs the titles heat by heat right from the beach should not be underestimated. However our system for the ninth successive year just gets better and better." said Interfuse Director Chris Clark.
